Equippable Items

There are very few Wearables with mechanical effects on your pet, but they do exist! Any Wearable with the word "Brass," "Steel," "Electrum," or "Amalgam" in the name will give the respective Combat bonus to a pet wearing it, whether it be a full set of Electrum armor or a single Brass bangle. Brass items increase your pet's likelihood to avoid negative secondary effects from opponents' spells or terrain/weather effects in Combat, Steel items increase damage dealt by weapons and abilities by 15%, Electrum items increase critical chance by 15% and improve droprate for rare items in Combat, and Amalgam items give your pet a higher likelihood of getting Spellcasting-related cards in their Combat spread. A pet can only benefit from one of these Combat bonuses at a time; if your pet wears multiple of these bonus-granting items, a random one of them will be active in every round of Combat while the others are disabled.

Weapons are a special category of item that can function as a Wearable if the user chooses, but don't automatically appear on the Wearables page with other clothing items. Instead, you can equip a weapon to a pet directly from your inventory or the pet's page, and then on the pet's customization page you can choose "Present in pose" for the pet's weapon. Your pet can use a weapon's skills and combat bonuses even if it's not visible on the pet's customization, but can't have one weapon just for combat and one just for looks; if you want your pet to pose with a sword Wearable, for instance, they have to actually have that sword equipped for combat. There's been oodles of forum discourse about whether weapons count as *real* Wearables since they're not on the Wearable tab or sold in the clothing shops, as well as spirited debates over whether one should pick weapons for their utility in combat or aesthetic appeal, or if the Chimeric developers should re-work the weapon system entirely. On the Wearables & Customization topic, all discussion of weapons is quarantined to "The Weapons Thread" on threat of 5-day forum suspension.

Many users enjoy collecting weapons even if there's no formal recognition of them as a Collectible, simply for aesthetic sensibilities and to show off! While any pet can craft a Wooden Club with one Woodworking shift and some driftwood, most higher-tier weapons require jumping through Chimeric's trademark labyrinthine crafting trees and pouring countless resources and dozens (if not hundreds) of Task hours into distilling the perfect tool. New weapons are also usually added in series which are drip-fed out over the course of weeks or months, meaning it's easy to finish crafting one weapon in a series riiiiight before a matching weapon comes out and then of course you need to give your new creation some company!

The most prized series of weapons in the game currently is the Seasons Series; Summer (a broadsword), Fall (a scythe), Winter (a shield), and Spring (a bow) can be created from blueprints which are astronomically rare to get from certain NPCs when completing a quest for them. They each require Celebration-specific items, including valuable Magic Items, to craft, but in turn offer bold, flashy aesthetics for customization and powerful, unique Combat Cards which make them unparalleled in Combat. Some other highly-sought Series which are collected by the adventurous include the Wildflower Series (Thistle, Yarrow, Foxglove, Clover, Aster, and Daffodil, all blades of various length from dagger to a claymore) and the overly-complicated Moon's Phases Series (From New Moon through to Full Moon, each except the first and last a seemingly simple black-and-white weapon that can switch into a more complicated color-swappedform depending on if you have it in "waning" or "waxing" mode) which was just completed recently.
