In Everywhere, chimeras aren't just any one color—why be brown or blue or green or gold when you could be a brilliant combination? As such, the different Colors of pets tend to refer not to a single shade, but rather to the general vibe or effect of their presentation. Colors can be Basic, Bold, or uncategorized.
Basic Colors are those available to all players with no requirements, either at pet creation when creating a new account or the adoption of a new pet from site events (ie very rarely from Hunting or Combat, as well as certain Celebrations). These include Shadow (predominately shades of browns and greens, with accents of red), Ocean (Various shades of blue, as expected, but with some greens and white/black accents and the occasional pop of brighter colors), Night (which tends towards muted greys and silver, black, and accents of purple), and Sun (tones of red, orange, yellow, and white, depending on the Form). The majority of NPCs living in Everywhere are Basic Colors. In order to re-paint a pet one of the Basic Colors or change its color, you can take a Prismabrush to the Forest, Ocean, Mountain during the Night, or Mountain during the Day and you'll have the option to re-paint the pet Forest, Ocean, Shadow, or Sun, respectively.
Bold colors, in contrast, are quite difficult to attain for a pet. Each one has a unique procurement method, and the effects they have on a pet are unique to that Form and any specific customization elements of the pet; a Sh'thrk's claws will become sharpened diamonds when it's colored Crystal, for instance, while a Vhers that happens to have tusks will have them become stone with veins of gemstone peaking through. The currently known and available Bold colors are Storm, Garden, Undergrowth, Space, Reanimated, Chaos, Technological, and Crystal. In addition, Festival is a seasonally available Bold Color that can be applied to a pet by completing the major Summer Event with them, and Technologic was briefly made available in several limited-time events but is expected to become a regularly available Bold Color in the future. There's also one Bold Color, Exalted, which is supposedly in the game but has no known unlock condition. Only four pets (Two Wuzzles, a Vhers, and a Naea) have been seen in this color, all owned by Chimeric site developers or staff. There's a pinned Forum thread speculating about the unlock conditions and what Eegees or Sh'thrk may look like in it, if you're interested!
Uncategorized Colors require less work to attain than Bold Colors, but still need some sort of effort; they may be purchased from a Stylist if you bring the necessary Pigments, or they may be procured using Magic or special Consumables. Each of the core elements (Steam, Magma, Lightning, Mud, Rain, and Dust) has a corresponding Color, and there's also Blood, Slime, Ice, Ink, Metal, Paint, Ceramic, and Weathered. Twice a year, the developers hold a Forum contest to add a new Color to the game, and so far those have all been uncategorized.
